Ice-T Vs. Soulja Boi, THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

Are you fucking serious?I first read a little bit about this so called battle or war on Amanda Diva's blog. I didn't really pay too much attention to it. I didn't think much of it. I kind of thought it was a hoax actually. Today I was on Seriously's blog and I had a chance to actually view the youtube videos of Ice T and Soulja Boi's responses. I must say that this is down right ridiculous. People may disagree with me but, I agree with Soulja Boi. Why would an old ass veteran like Ice T decide to talk shit about a 16 year old. I know a lot of old heads have their opinions and views of hip hop today or new and upcoming rappers but, to actually get on youtube and tell a 16 year old to "eat a dick" is very immature. If Ice-T truly feels that Soulja Boi single handedly killed hip hop why not try to get in contact with him, sit down have a conversation, get to know the kid a bit, and reach out to him in that manner. Then for Ice-T to say that hip hop isn't just about some stupid dance, he's wrong. When hip hop first started it was about more than just rhymes. Hip Hop was about rhyming, grafitti, djs, and dancing. I personally feel that over the years Hip Hop actually got away from dancing besides the naked girls in the videos, which don't even count. I think that a lot of Southern artists (like D4L, Dem Franchise Boyz, Soulja Boi) actually brought dancing and the fun back into hip hop. I'd much rather see a kid like Soulja Boi rap and create a dance than to see and hear him talk about drugs and murder. The first time that I had actually heard Soulja Boi's Superman song I was at a wedding reception. When the song came on everybody, young and old raced to the dance floor to do this dance. I was like WTF, what is this song and who made it. I actually felt a moment of joy to see people of all ages get up, dance, and have so much fun together. I had never in my life seen that happen with any other song. Another thing that Ice-T needs to realize is that, Soulja Boi was 16 when he created that song (he's 17 now). So he was born in 1991 and he's from the South. If Ice-T knew anything about culture "The South" is known for dancing. So it's like what do you expect? Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to stereotype young people who live in the south at all. It's a different time frame. It's not 1985 it's 2008. If you guys don't know by now I love music. I listen to all types of music. My favorite rapper is Nas but, you can also catch me one day bumping Three 6 Mafia or Bun B. I'm a lyric person and I love music with substance but, sometimes I want to hear some crunk shit. People talk a lot of shit about southern rappers and say that they're not real rappers and that's their opinion. The bottom line is if you don't like it then don't listen to it. It's room in the industry for everybody and every type of genre or style. Case and Point. I thought I was done but, I'm not. Then for Ice-T to try to crack on Hurricane Chris's beads (which, he did apologize in the 2nd video), he can't say shit about nobody's hair because he's had that old ass fucking ponytail all his life. I just noticed in that video that he must have just cut it off *CLAPS*! It's about time. You don't see Ice Cube still walking around with a Jerry Curl do you? When you get old it's time to change.

I always thought Ice-T was wack. I like him a lot better on that detective show...wasnt he like a pimp? I mean im not fan of soulja boy because of "girl shake that booty meat" and "throw some d's on that bitch" (in reference to a report card) but i definitely want my kid dancing to some song than singing about murder and drugs--but i wouldnt buy them a soulja boy cd either...Soulja boy's youtube was hilarious!!!!! I didnt see Ice-T...him and his barbie doll wife turn me off...not that his wife has anything to do with this lol but i think she's ridiculous with her ass implants

Same here. I honestly can't name one Ice T song. Yea throw some D's was ignorant but,I liked that Superman song.I agree.Soulja Boi's response was funny as hell. I'm sorry but, he straight roasted Ice-T. I don't even want to get on Ice-T and his wife. They're known to be a little extreme. I saw a picture of him sucking his wife's breasts on the red carpet. What you do @ home is cool but, that was mad ignorant and un-called for. Him and his wife do some really crazy stuff so for him to talk about anybody is out of pocket.

From what I understand Ice T is dissing Soulja Boy because Soulja Boy has been saying some real disrespectful stuff in magazine interviews about oldschool Hip-Hop pioneers like Wu-Tang, Gza, and some others. You have these new artists coming out disrespecting veteran artists who paved the way for corny ass rappers like Soulja Boy to even get a record deal. In Rock or Alternative, new artists pay homage to the bands who came out before them, and oldschool Rock bands have cult followings who can still do sold out concerts. In hip-hop, you're lucky if Krs-One (who's doper than Soulja Boy) could even sell out the shelter. It's very sad.

After watching the videos, even though Soulja Boy wack as fuck, he was right about how Ice T handled the situation, and the position he's in. I can't feel his music, but I can't blame him.

Exactly. Soulja Boi was right. All the money he has and status he could do a lot more than to make vidoes talking shit about a 17 year that's old enough to be his son. Again, if Soulja Boi was talking crap about veterans Ice-T should have got at him on another level not the way he did. He could have got his contact info and talked with the boy.

To me, it's just that Soulja Boy is exhibiting the kind of behavior that would warrant someone to continue to put him down.

Soulja Boy would have been in a better position to take the high road and turn the tables on Ice-T. It's like an older person putting you down, you don't lash back at them on their lever, because you are not on their level. That's why we call them elders.

It's more important to watch your behavior, your mouth and your image in public than to worry about getting a "1 up" on someone older.

This subject is really about communication or lack there of.

Soulja Boy's best move would have been to make a video talking about how Ice-T didn't have to disrespect him and to hold out an olive branch. But saying "nigga, nigga, nigga" in 90% of the video and attempting to retaliate against Ice-T just made Soulja Boy appear all the more stupider and dumber than Ice-T was for making his comments.

Besides, Soulja Boy is a child and children should not speak to adults that way.

Remember, who's more foolish?
The fool (Ice-T) or the fool that follows him (Soulja Boy)?

Seriously, you keep bringing up Soulja Boi saying nigga nigga nigga. Ice-T used the words just about as many times as he did.Is it cool only for adults to use the world Nigga? If Ice-T is an elder he should act like one. Elders don't talk smack about kids if they feel that a child has done something wrong they pull them to the side and talk about it. They stop and give them advice or pointers not call talk about them and call wack and bla bla bla. I wouldn't respect an so called elder at all who behaved that way. Ice-T totally behaved like a 16 year old. He's too damn old to be telling anybody eat a dick.

Also just because someone is older doesn't mean they're right. My mother and other elders say a lot of things, and just because they're older or my mother doesn't mean that everything that they say or do is right.
